Meyers Manx is showing off its street-legal electric buggy during Monterey Car Week 2026, but we got to take it for a drive in an exclusive preview.
The Manx 2.0 has all the visual charm of a vintage buggy, but instead of a buzzy engine behind, it whooshes through curves powered by an electric motor.
What’s missing in this photo? No four-cylinder, no Corvair or Subaru flat-six, and no three-cylinder radial. Behind the California plate is a CCS charging port that fills up a liquid-cooled 45-kWh battery.
Unlike the retro Manx build which generally use a classic car or boat steering wheel, the 2.0 has a modern adjustable column with a soft-touch wheel.

Manx says the 2.0 should be good for about 100 miles of driving before needing a charge.
With 181 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque, the 2.0 is no weakling. It can easily spin the 265/70R-15 General Grabber all-terrain tires at the rear.

Staring a Manx in the face and not wanting to take it for a drive is like walking past a shelter puppy without filling out an application to adopt. Impossible.
