Singer Vehicle Design has joined forces with Louis Vuitton to create two unique Porsche 911 builds. The French fashion house and the California sports car reimagineer have combined their powers to create a pair of decadent 964s. For over a decade, Singer Vehicle Design has been creating some of the world's most remarkable restomodded, or as the builder prefers to call it, reimagined Porsche 911s.
Unlike many a Porsche shop, Singer sticks fairly tightly to its winning formula: it only uses 964-generation cars, and avoids the wretched excess and over-the-top designs that characterize too many custom builds. That elegant formula has won it plenty of fans in the luxury world—and made it an ideal partner for one Louis Vuitton. The idea of a Louis Vuitton timepiece in a car's dash might seem unusual, given the French fashion house is best known for leather pieces and extremely high-end luggage.
View Price on AmazonThis unique and remarkable adventure began with a request for a dashboard clock for a car reimagined by Singer. However, it quickly became apparent that this collaboration with Singer could extend to the personalization of every functional element of the vehicle. The first car to be created was the saffron-colored carbon fiber-bodied coupe, which features cobalt blue accents and a delightfully vintage-looking roof rack to go with its 4.0-liter flat-six engine, producing 320 horsepower.
Louis Vuitton is known for leather, so it's no surprise that high-end cowskin coats a remarkable amount of the interior of both cars, with the same type used for the handles of the brand's bags. Finely crafted metal switchgear is speckled throughout, all with the aim of recreating the feel of interacting with a fine watch anywhere your fingers adjust a control. The clock itself is worth discussing, as it's a mechanical timepiece that slots into the right-most place of the 911's classic quintet of dials, next to the speedometer.
