An apparently service-ready version of the current Charger made an appearance at the Police Fleet Expo at Daytona International Speedway. Few vehicles command as much attention on the road as police cars—and no cop car is as celebrated or feared as the high-speed pursuit vehicle. Departments across the country are lacking for choice in that regard these days, but it appears Dodge is gearing up to step back into service with the latest version of the Charger.

This week’s Police Fleet Expo in Florida happens to feature a particularly well-equipped Dodge that reportedly previews the upcoming Charger PPV. Our first look at this apparent Charger Police Pursuit Vehicle comes by way of Team One Public Safety Division on Instagram, which captured the modified and upfitted Charger SixPack at Daytona International Speedway during the expo.

Details on the car remain relatively scarce, but the post does claim that the car will be available for order come summer 2027. It’s hard to glean whether or not the PPV will utilize the Standard Output or High Output version of the Hurricane inline-six from the photos. No matter if the engine is in 420-hp or 550-hp trim, either version should outperform the 370-hp of the previous V-8 model.

Like every Charger on sale today, the PPV will reportedly be supported by an all-wheel drive layout; expect other typical law enforcement upgrades like beefier suspension components, additional coolers for the engines and gearbox, and job-specific upfits, as well. The interior on this particular demonstrator has been modified with the expected accoutrements, including the passenger dividers, radios, light controllers, and more.

Despite the car's massive size, the front end does look a bit tight with all the extras; the console shifter, in particular, will likely need a rework before these things actually enter service. That said, it’s not a bad looking police vehicle by any means. But whether or not it can outrun Ford’s service-ready Mustang—or win over departments—is another question altogether.
