BMW Group has reported a strong second quarter in the US, with sales increasing by 13% compared to the same period last year. The company sold 102,713 units in Q2 2026, with the BMW X5 being the best-selling model. The X5, despite being due for a model change, saw significant interest from customers.
The BMW X3 also performed well, benefiting from the distinction between the 3-series and 4-series. If the mid-size sedans were considered together, they would have narrowly beaten the X3 and X4 in Q2 2026. The X-series continues to be the largest success factor in the US, accounting for 53.6% of US sales and growing by 13.2% compared to the same quarter last year.
The addition of the BMW iX3, which will be introduced to the US market this summer, as well as the new X5 and iX5, will further boost sales. The upcoming BMW iX4 is also expected to generate significant interest among American customers. For the first half of the year, US sales are up 4.7% for BMW, while MINI sales have decreased by 6%. The overall increase for the BMW Group is 3.9%.
