The new sloped-back Atlas Cross Sport joins Volkswagen's recently redesigned Atlas SUV. Unlike the Atlas, which features three rows of seats, the Atlas Cross Sport has only two rows of seats.
The 2027 VW Atlas Cross Sport has a fresh appearance but remains a sportier take on the traditional Atlas. It features a more raked windshield, and the greenhouse has been shortened by 2.1 inches.
The two-row Cross Sport and three-row Atlas share a wheelbase and a 282-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. While we don't yet know the powertrain's EPA estimates, VW claims the updated engine gets better fuel economy.
The front end features stacked headlights with distinctive LED squares that are repeated on the back of the SUV. This character line is most prominent on the front and rear fenders, and it sits higher than on the current Atlas.
While the entry-level Cross Sport features 18-inch wheels, the rest of the lineup receives newly styled 20- and 21-inch wheels. Volkswagen hasn't yet released pricing for the 2027 Atlas Cross Sport, but that will be shared closer to its on-sale date.
