The 2027 Nissan Kicks Rock Creek is a ruggedized trim level that targets the Subaru Crosstrek with its off-road capabilities and styling. This new trim comes with standard all-wheel drive, a chunky roof rack, and an off-road drive mode.

The Nissan Kicks is already a popular choice due to its affordable pricing, but it seems Nissan wants a piece of the Subaru Crosstrek's rugged aesthetic. The Rock Creek package, available for the Kicks' SV trim level, adds distinctive visual differences and extra equipment such as a roof rack and an off-road driving mode.

The Rock Creek treatment, already available on the larger Rogue and Pathfinder SUVs, includes 17-inch wheels with a unique design, black trim for the mirrors and bumpers, amber daytime running lights, and a unique grille. The chunky roof rack and crossbars can hold up to 165 pounds.

There aren't any mechanical changes, but the Rock Creek does add an off-road driving mode that's said to allow for more slip from the traction control, and it also has hill-descent control. Ground clearance is the same 8.4 inches as the standard Kicks, which is slightly less than the Crosstrek's 8.7 inches.

Inside, the seats are finished in a different upholstery, and the Rock Creek logo is found on the floor mats. This outdoorsy trim also includes ambient interior lighting, a 360-degree camera system, a heated steering wheel, heated seats, and heated mirrors. Most of this stuff is optional on other Kicks models, which explains why the Rock Creek has the highest starting price of any 2027 Kicks variant.

The 2027 Nissan Kicks Rock Creek starts at $30,385, which is $2,350 more than the SV AWD. It will start reaching dealerships this summer.
