The 2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee Upland is a new trim level that offers a more rugged aesthetic at a lower price point than the Trailhawk model. This new trim level isn’t an all-out rock crawler, but it includes all-terrain tires and rugged-looking visuals at a more reasonable price.
Jeep brought the rock-crawling Trailhawk model back to the Grand Cherokee lineup for 2027, but it’s not the only new off-road-oriented trim offered for this mid-size SUV. There’s also now the Upland trim, which was first introduced on the Grand Wagoneer and offers a less expensive choice for those looking for a more rugged aesthetic.
View Price on AmazonThe Grand Cherokee Upland does without the Trailhawk’s mechanical upgrades, but its starting price is $5000 lower, and it incorporates many of its sibling’s visual tweaks. The Upland has 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, and the front fascia incorporates a similar design as the Trailhawk, with gray tow hooks to match other bits of gray exterior trim.
It comes standard with the 324-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four that was added to the Grand Cherokee lineup for 2026, but it doesn’t have the height-adjustable air suspension or the transfer case that the Trailhawk includes. The starting price for the 2027 Grand Cherokee Upland comes in at just under $50,000—$49,990, to be specific—and applies to the two-row version.
