This year, just like so many years past, is shaping up to be an astoundingly good one when it comes to auctions at Monterey Car Week. There are hundreds of cars worthy of being highlighted on this list, crossing the block at auctions by RM Sotheby’s, Bonhams, Mecum, Broad Arrow and more, so distilling the list down to just 16 examples could be a disservice ... but we did it anyway.
From legendary Corvettes to hypercars old and new and a bunch of significant or funky prototypes in between, seeing the cars roll up and roll off should make for a varied and intriguing watch. So, let’s get into some highlights before the money starts getting thrown around.
The 1996 McLaren F1 GTR, also known as the Pop Art F1, is one of only nine converted to road specification and is expected to sell for over $35 million. This particular F1 was owned by Nick Mason of Pink Floyd for 25 years before it was sold to a private party in 2024, and now it’s going up for sale again. It might just be the most recognizable McLaren F1 in existence, so watch out for it rolling onto the block this Saturday.
View Price on AmazonThe 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport is another highly anticipated vehicle, being the first Grand Sport coupe ever built. This factory-built competition Corvette has a long, storied history in racing, and was piloted by drivers like A.J. Foyt, Jim Hall, and more. The current owner fully restored it, and RM Sotheby’s predicts it will sell somewhere in the $11–$13 million range.
The 2014 McLaren P1 GT by Lanzante is also expected to attract a lot of attention, with only four examples having gone through the Lanzante conversion. It’s an homage to the F1 GT Longtail, and while it’s technically a road build and being sold in California, RM does note the vehicle won’t comply with California emissions. The estimated sale price is $3.0–$3.5 million.
The 1979 Ferrari 512 BB/LM is another notable vehicle, being one of 25 built for competition. This car had restoration work completed by Ferrari Classiche, and is expected to hammer somewhere in the $2.0–$3.5 million range.
The 1960 Chevrolet Corvette LM is yet another historically significant Corvette, having raced in the 1960 24 Hours of Le Mans and being piloted by Briggs Cunningham and Bill Kimberly. A full restoration was completed in 2023 by Kevin Mackay, and it’s predicted to sell for $2.0–$2.5 million.
The 2026 Ferrari Luce 'Tailor Made' is also up for auction, with a Madreperla exterior and Perla Le Mans interior. A regular Luce starts around the $640,000 mark, but this car is predicted to sell for over $1.1 million, according to RM.
The 1991 Jaguar XJR-15 is a rare supercar, with only 27 built in road-going specification. Sharing an engine and suspension with the XJR-9 race car, this carbon-tubbed Jag is one of the wildest and rarest supercars of the 1990s.
